The first is a 4-month chart followed by a longer-term 9-month chart.I still have 270 as a support level for the SPY. We are staying above that, but also still stuck below the 200-day moving average. The MACD is neutral. The Stochastics are low and appear to be recycling back up. The Money Flow is slightly positive. Watching the 200-day Moving Average: We are currently just below it. This level is often mentioned by traders, but more importantly it is in many computer trading algos. The 200-day can also be used as a moving resistance or support line. Currently we are pinned between 270 and the 200-day MA until we can break up or down. We briefly got above it Friday, but thanks to continued weakness in tech are now back below it again. The tug of war continues. Just a few days till Thanksgiving! On the 9-month chart, the nice channel since April has been shown. This trend/pattern was broken to the downside. Awaiting the emergence of the next pattern. The 270 line is support now, Resistance at 280.Nasdaq Composite +5.0% YTDDow Jones Industrial Average +2.8% YTDS&P 500 +2.3% YTDRussell 2000 -0.5% YTDDisclosure: I may trade in the ticker symbols mentioned, both long or short.
