Posting this to share with our readers:My thoughts...The selling continued in the markets today as all three of the major indexes finished down. The positive is that there was no real damage. Yes, prices went down, but that didn't change the short term trend of the market which is positive and heading north. The S&P 500 Index, which is used more of a proxy for comparison performance of 401(k)'s and retirement plans, is still faced with being under its 50 Day SMA and, is now below its 12 Day SMA. I am actually more concerned, at this juncture, with the S&P 500 Index being below that 12 Day SMA. The 12 Day SMA has proven to be a nice trend monitor on a short term basis, and for the S&P 500 Index to be below both of those moving averages does get my attention. The market can stay below the 12 Day and 50 Day SMA's a few days, but not for long. I would want to see us move back above those moving averages no later than next Tuesday or about 5 trading days.The Nasdaq Composite is below its 50 and 200 Day SMA's, but is still above its 12 Day SMA. How are our trades doing? The QQQ's price is above all four of the major moving averages that we follow, that being the 12 Day SMA, 21 Day EMA, 50 Day SMA and 200 Day SMA. Our other holding, IBB, is also holding above all of its major moving averages. Both QQQ and IBB are showing stronger relative strength or are saying that demand for stocks is good in these sectors. We will continue to hold these unless, with this volatility, we get shaken out by our stops. That is something out of our control.Today NVDA was stopped out in our portfolio with a -5.01 loss. Looking through our scans & filters today only one company came up. It was a biotech that was up over +21% yesterday and over +4% today, so no thank you. The risk is too high. We do not have a stock pick for tomorrow.Have a great evening and happy trading!- BernardP.S The Stock Symbol is EXELLearn more about them here - www.TradesAfterWork.com https://twitter.com/BERNARDCLAY9!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");
