UBS AND NEW STREET SAY BUY AT&T: New Street analyst Jonathan Chaplin upgraded AT&T (T) to Buy from Neutral with a "tactical" six-month target price target of $35. The analyst has "reservations" about AT&T's long-term prospects but does not expect the market to "take our side on the longer-term issues for a while." The dividend cut coupled with higher capex post the media transaction is positive for long-term value, Chaplin tells investors in a research note. This may result in some changeover in the shareholder base from income investors to fundamental investors, but that impact should be temporary, says the analyst.Meanwhile, UBS analyst John Hodulik also upgraded AT&T to Buy from Neutral with a price target of $35, up from $32. The company's simplified structure post the media deal and improved visibility create an attractive risk/reward profile following the recent selloff Hodulik tells investors in a research note. He believes AT&T's target for $20B in free cash flow is achievable and that its capital intensity should ease beyond 2023, paving the way for buybacks two years earlier than expected.'PRICE IS RIGHT': UBS analyst Myles Walton upgraded Virgin Galactic (SPCE) to Buy from Neutral with a price target of $36, down from $40. The analyst says the "price is right" with the stock down from 2021 highs on test flight delays. The faster pace of the Blue Origin offering commercial service merits watching, but the "care being taken on pricing and price discovery in the near-term," as illustrated by the $3M current bid price for the first Blue Origin seat with three weeks left of bidding, is encouraging, Walton tells investors in a research note. The analyst remains positive on the fundamentals of Virgin Galactic's offering as well as the "scarcity of the experience" provided to customers.CRYPTO UNCERTAINTY: Northland analyst Gus Richard downgraded Seagate (STX) to Market Perform from Outperform with an unchanged price target of $98. Seagate shares have started to trade "in sympathy with cryptocurrencies," said Richard, who estimates that cryptocurrency accounts for roughly 3% of HDD demand this quarter. While he thinks Chia and other proof-of-space-time, or "PoSt," cryptocurrencies are "here to stay" and will add growth to the HDD market long-term, he sees them adding "unpredictable volatility" to Seagate shares, Richard tells investors.5G LAUNCH IN VEGAS COULD BE CATALYST: Benchmark analyst Matthew Harrigan initiated coverage of Dish (DISH) with a Buy rating and $62 price target. Dish is building a "native" U.S. 5G network that is cloud based, virtualized, and more cost efficient as it does not have to support legacy 3G/4G infrastructure, Harrigan tells investors. The analyst, who thinks the 5G launch in Las Vegas coming in Q3 could be a catalyst for shares, notes that he attributes $30B in value, or $45 per share, to Dish's 5G build. The remainder of value is attributed to "the eroding Dish satellite and Sling streaming video businesses," Harrigan noted.TESLA PRICE TARGET LOWERED: BofA analyst John Murphy lowered the firm's price target on Tesla (TSLA) to $700 from $900 and keeps a Neutral rating on the shares. The company will continue to utilize its stock to raise capital through low-cost equity offerings in order to speed up its "aggressive" capacity expansion plans globally while driving unit output and /revenue substantially higher, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Murphy adds that he is adjusting his valuation model to imply enterprise value to expected 2021 sales to 15.5-times from 23-times prior.
