Via -TradesAfterWork 13/2020 - After Close Notes Posting this to share with our readers: My thoughts...We had a bifurcated market today with the S&P 500 Index and the Dow Jones 30 both being down over 1%, but the Nasdaq Composite finishing up. This gives us a hint that the Nasdaq Composite is showing relative strength and that it's likely where most of the growth stock plays will be coming from. One positive for the market today is that volume was down in comparison to last Thursday. That is what the bulls want to see on a down day in the market. The only Index/Stock pick that we are currently holding, QQQ had a decent day finishing up just a little over +1%. That puts our only position up +2.7%. What's interesting about QQQ is that it actually closed up above its 200 Day SMA today. That is positive, but it's still below its 50 Day SMA. I would love to move up our stop, which is currently at $187.8 up above our buying price of $197.66 as soon as I can. That way we are in the money. To do that, though, QQQ will need to have a few more days like today and a decrease in it's volatility. All of the major indexes are still below their 50 Day SMA and 200 Day SMA, and that's a lot of headwind. It would not be unusual at all to see this rally get smacked down in those 2 major moving averages. What might be healthier for the bulls to see is some basing or sideways action in the market before the indexes try to break through the 50 Day SMA and 200 Day SMA. The Nasdaq Composite is less than 3% away from it's 200 Day SMA, so it will likely be the first one to challenge it. If the Nasdaq Composite can slice through the 200 day SMA this week, it will make it easier for the S&P 500 Index and the Dow Jones 30 to break through, too.Looking at the short term picture the rally is still on with prices being above the 12 Day SMA and 21 Day EMA. Our screens and filters did not provide for us a new pick, so we have no stock pick for tomorrow. The fact that we are not getting any stocks through our screen and filters, reminds us again why we are cautious and very nimble at this point.Have a great evening and happy trading!- Bernard Learn more about them here - TradesAfterWork.com - https://twitter.com/BERNARDCLAY9!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");© 2020 TradesAfterWork.com
