Brief Recap and Updates on the MarketsSPY Charts and some Technical Analysis In Friday's action: The S&P 500 lost 16 points on Friday, closing near session lows, following late day news that talks between the U.S. and China had stalled. News to keep in mind Monday morning: Futures trade vs fair value were higher late last night. Dow +106, S&P +10, Nasdaq +24, Russell +6.The biggest factors in the market right now are; Global Economy, China trade talks, Fed speak, and the US Treasury markets.Keep an eye on the VIX - The CBOE Volatility Index spiked again last week, but did has dropped back into the mid-teens. This is a signal the pullback/panic selling is coming to an end.CHINA TRADE WAR is back on - Shaking up the markets. Today's Economic Calendar: 8:30 Chicago Fed National Activity IndexQuick Notes: $TSLA Tesla (TSLA 211.03, -17.30) fell 7.6% after CEO Elon Musk emailed employees that he will be reviewing all expenses as part of "hardcore" cost cutting efforts. Tiger's Take: Things are getting more desperate here, avoid, sell, or short this.THE CHARTS: The markets were a lower on Friday. The technicals have recovered from the dip we had taken. The MACD has halted it's decline, the Stochastics have bottomed and cycling higher, and the Money Flow is still positive. We are back below the 50-day moving average though. Keep an eye on this level it will need to be watched now more closely. We are above the 285 level which I had considered support previously. Our next support is our stronger 280 level which held very well. The MACD has bottomed out. The Stochastics are neutral. The Money Flow is still positive. The 50-day MA (286.23)(+.24) and the 200-day MA (275.40)(+.04) On the 9-month chart below, the previous patterns are behind us. Shown now is the support levels at 280 and the resistance now at 290. We held the 280 level, we may stay in a 280-290 trading range for awhile.
